Since 1981

After a long training in the best restaurants in the country, the businessman and chef José Gómez opened on September 24, 1981 El Racó del Pla, in the traditional neighborhood of Pla Carolinas in Alicante. His secret to success: perseverance, love for a job well done, his personality and his passion for dealing with customers.

What started as a small family restaurant grew over time thanks to you, our customers. In 1992 we expanded the premises, which today has two dining rooms with a capacity of 50 and 70 diners and a great team of 12 people who ensure that the experience is always unique and special

Mediterranean cuisine

Our menu is dominated by Mediterranean rice and fish dishes, as well as homemade dishes such as Fabes con Almejas (beans with clams) and Olleta Alicantina. Our customers especially like the Arroz con Pata de Ternera, a type of rice of rustic origin, humble, but that is among the most gulescos of the Valencian Country according to the critics. We are described as the temple of rice.

Today, as always, our difference is the careful relation price-product; we take care of the raw materials and the way of elaborating the food combining recipes of yesterday and today with flavors and ingredients treated with affection and care.

Our wine list has been recognized with different awards and has references of the most outstanding D.O. of Spain as Ribera del Duero, Rioja or Alicante.
